Area Rugs
An exceptional vase carpet in Berlin's Schloss Museum is the basis for this exciting design. The original, a 16th Century rug attributed to Central Persia, presents a classic flower and vase pattern within multicolored, lozenge-shaped medallions. Comprised of cotton, linen and wool, the original is predominantly blue, faded green, red, carmine, yellow and white. While there is no apparent system in the coloring of the lozenges, the motifs are symmetrical and balanced. As in the original, this interpretation presents a richly pleasing multicolored medley. Its sparkling palette of ruby, ebony, golds and greens create warmth and beauty that will light up a room.
Truly timeless, these designs date back as far as the 15th Century and have graced the palaces of ancient aristocracy and royalty. Nourison's talented designers and master craftsmen have reimagined those precious heirlooms – now only seen in museums and private collections – reproducing their spectacular detail and color to enrich the homes of today.
